 Welcome to Homer Township

Welcome to Homer Township, the South-western most township in Medina County, Ohio. Established in 1831, the township remains rural and agricultural with a large Amish population.

Trustee meetings are held the last Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.  If a meeting falls on a National Holiday, the meeting will be held on the following work day. Zoning Commission meetings are held the second Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Board of Zoning Appeals meets the first Thursday at 7:00 p.m. or as needed. Homer Township Hall is located at 8964 Spencer Rd. (SR 301 North of SR 224).

UPCOMING EVENTS

The Homer Township Trustees will hold a public hearing on Monday, April 24, 2023 at the Homer Community Center, 8964 Spencer Rd., Homerville at 6:45 p.m.

 

The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comment on a proposed amendment to Article IV – Conditionally Permissible Uses – of the Homer Twp zoning resolution, which would add regulations for a Single Residence Converted to a Dual Residence, making several terminology changes in Sec 401-4, Area and Height Regulations.

 

Beginning 4/14/23, the proposed amendment will be available for viewing here and here or may be viewed by appointment by contacting the Homer Township fiscal officer at 419-606-1463. After the conclusion of the public hearing, the matter will be voted on by the trustees.
